MIBA Staff and Board Attend Nova Music Festival to Honor October 7th Victims

This November, the Michigan Israel Business Accelerator (MIBA) had the privilege of attending the Nova Music Festival Memorial and Exhibition. Staff and board members joined the global community in reflecting on the devastating terrorist attacks that occurred in Israel on October 7, 2023, and honoring the lives lost and hostages taken in this senseless violence.

This October’s Spotlight on Innovation features two leaders in sustainable, animal-free food: Mush Foods and NewMoo Foods. With Mush Foods’ mushroom mycelium innovations and NewMoo Foods’ plant-based casein, they’re shaping a nutritious, eco-friendly future.

Capturing Innovation: Sderot’s South Up and Holon’s Netter Center

The MIBA Israel team continues to expand its network by visiting with ecosystem leaders across regions and sectors. Last month, the team took a trip to the south of Israel to connect with SouthUp, a regional incubator focused on nurturing startups in the Western Negev of Israel in several sectors aligned with the State of Michigan. Additionally, Esther attended an event at the Netter Center, an entrepreneurial Food & Ag Tech hub – just in time to further promote the December AgTech Delegation to Michigan.

MIBA Forges Connections at AUSA

The MIBA attended the AUSA Conference in Washington, DC this month. AUSA is one of the largest defense conferences in the US and Israeli defense companies typically have a strong presence there. Scott Hiipakka, Bernard Bourgeois, and Dan Ryan spent three days at the conference connecting with Israeli companies and creating connections between them and Michigan companies and stakeholders.
