The Consul General’s office organized an impressive celebration of Israel’s 77th anniversary as a nation. The theme of “Hope and Resilience” resonated loudly throughout the night as a gathering of over 500 people joined to commemorate the occasion, including dignitaries representing many of the midwest states. The Counsel General, Yinam Cohen, spoke on Israel’s current challenges and opportunities.

Our own Mark Davidoff was one of five honorees that evening and the only one from outside the greater Chicago area. He and the MIBA were recognized for the many years of impactful connections between Israel and Michigan.

The next morning, we also met privately with Yinam as well as the Consul for Political and Commercial Affairs, Itai Biran. Plans for the future of both organizations and our partnership were discussed. To say we have a high degree of mutual respect for each other’s organization is a major understatement! “We wish we had 9 MIBA’s in the midwest!” said Itai. We look forward to continuing and strengthening our relationship.
