Deadline Extended: BIRD Energy Grants Now Accepting Applications Through July 22

Good news for Michigan and Israeli companies exploring cross-border energy innovation: the BIRD Energy program has extended its Executive Summary deadline to July 22, 2026 (5:00 p.m. ET), giving prospective applicants two additional weeks to develop strong joint proposals.
BIRD Energy provides up to $1.5 million in non-dilutive funding for collaborative R&D projects between U.S. and Israeli partners. The program supports innovative technologies in areas including energy storage, grid modernization, AI-enabled energy systems, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity for energy infrastructure, critical minerals, and water-energy solutions. Funding covers up to 50% of eligible project costs, and BIRD takes no equity or intellectual property from participating companies.
