June was a powerful reminder that the future of mobility still runs through Michigan.
With AutoTech Detroit in Novi and the ITS America Conference & Expo at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan once again became a gathering place for the companies, engineers, public-sector leaders, investors, and idea leaders shaping what transportation becomes next..
These were not just industry events. They were signals.
AutoTech brought together leaders focused on software-defined vehicles, connected mobility, AI, autonomous systems, manufacturing innovation, and the future user experience inside and around the vehicle. ITS America highlighted the broader transportation system: intelligent infrastructure, connected roads, safety, data, public mobility, and the technologies that will help cities and regions move people and goods more efficiently.
For the Michigan ecosystem, the value of these meetups is clear. They bring global companies and decision-makers directly into the heart of the automotive and mobility industry. They create opportunities for startups to meet customers, suppliers to find new partners, public agencies to understand emerging tools, and Michigan companies to stay close to the technologies that will define the next generation of transportation.
This matters because mobility is no longer only about the vehicle. It is about software, sensors, data, infrastructure, energy, safety, user experience, logistics, and manufacturing. Michigan has strengths across all of these areas. Our challenge and opportunity is to keep connecting them.
