TripleW Moves Closer to U.S. Launch with Muskegon Site Visit

Written by Casey Iaccino, MIBA Director of Innovation and Economic Expansion

This month, MIBA was proud to host TripleW in Muskegon as they enter the final stages of selecting their site for U.S. operations. The visit showcased the strength of collaboration across Michigan’s economic development ecosystem and the enthusiasm for bringing new circular economy technologies to West Michigan.

A Strong Start with Local & State Leaders

The day began with a meeting that included the Muskegon Economic Development team, representatives from Muskegon County, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD). Discussions focused on TripleW’s proposed site in Muskegon, as well as their recently established supply agreement with a major west Michigan food processor, a key milestone in their U.S. market entry.

Exploring Sustainable Partnerships

Following the site visit, the delegation met with leadership from the Muskegon County Resource Recovery Center, who would become TripleW’s neighbors. The conversations quickly expanded into shared opportunities for clean tech innovation, sustainable agriculture, and waste reutilization. The alignment of missions between TripleW and local partners underscored the potential for Muskegon to become a hub for cutting-edge sustainable manufacturing.

Building Momentum Toward the Finish Line

The excitement from all parties was palpable. TripleW’s U.S. project represents a significant capital investment in West Michigan, transforming discarded waste into new, economically viable products. The project is poised to deliver job creation, circular economic benefits, and scalable waste upcycling solutions—a combination that will strengthen both the Muskegon community and Michigan’s leadership in sustainable industry.

As this project continues down the path to inception, the MIBA looks forward to supporting the final steps and celebrating the greenlighting of a venture that promises to be a win for Muskegon, a win for Michigan, and a win for the environment.
