SilverStream + Michigan: From Introduction to U.S. Market Entry
Written by Casey Iaccino, Director of Innovation & Economic Expansion
Every month, we spotlight a couple of the many Israeli companies we work with and share the innovations they are bringing to the market. In February, we profiled SilverStream Medical’s breakthrough wound-healing technology—an FDA-cleared solution already used in 25+ countries and nearly 500,000 patient treatments for diabetic foot ulcers, burns, and pressure sores. The promise remains the same: faster healing, fewer infections, and a path away from chronic pain and amputations.
Success Story: A Michigan Match Becomes a Market Launch
- New U.S. Distribution Agreement. SilverStream has signed a distribution agreement with Alliant Biotech (sister company of MediSurge) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- How it happened. The partnership began with MIBA’s introduction and was finalized during SilverStream’s visit to Grand Rapids two months ago, following Alliant Biotech’s sales seminar (pictured below) in Grand Rapids where the teams met with distribution partners and aligned on go-to-market plans.
- Why it matters. The agreement adds to SilverStream’s growing U.S. distribution network, expanding access across multiple regions and anchoring commercialization activity in Michigan as the company scales its U.S. presence.
Priority Impact: Serving U.S. Veterans
A shared priority in the partnership is ensuring U.S. Veterans gain access to innovative wound care through the VA system and beyond. With its proven clinical performance, the SilverStream Solution supports faster healing, reduced complications, and better quality of life for Veteran patients.
Why Michigan
- Manufacturing + Quality. Grand Rapids’ med-device cluster—including MediSurge—offers FDA-savvy production, quality systems, and logistics to support scale.
- Clinical Proximity. Michigan health systems and advanced wound-care centers provide a strong environment for clinical adoption and outcomes tracking (including Veteran care pathways).
- Speed to Scale. Alliant Biotech’s commercial footprint accelerates sales coverage, training, and field support across the Midwest and beyond.
What’s Next
- Provider Onboarding. Alliant Biotech and SilverStream will launch clinical education, in-service training, and starter evaluations with Michigan providers and VA-affiliated sites.
- Data & Outcomes. Early adopter sites will capture real-world evidence (healing time, infection reduction, patient-reported outcomes) to support broader U.S. expansion.
- Supply Chain Readiness. Alignment with MediSurge supports scalable, compliant supply as demand grows.
